WHAT IS QSL?

SWL QSL Card Museum

The three letters - QSL - constitute one of the codes originally developed in the days of the telegraph. All codes consisted of three letters beginning with "Q". Later some of these "Q" codes were adopted by radio-telegraphists and radio listeners. QSL means "contact confirmed" or "reception confirmed".

This site is dedicated to the hobby of Shortwave Radio Listening and the collection of station verification reports, better known as QSLs. The QSLs are presented (card and letter format) from various collections throughout the world. If you have a QSL from a station not represented in our collection, we would be very interested in making it part of the museum. The museum is supported entirely by volunteer contributors.

British Broadcasting Corporation

BBC World Service is no longer issuing  QSLs. World Service programme delivery engineers now have their own monitoring systems in place and do not actively seek reception reports and BBC do not have the staff resources to verify reports.   However, information about unusual or persistent interference on specific frequencies at specific times can be very useful, and are forwarded to the engineers.
